Anyone who follows me on Facebook or follows my Author page will have seen this so I suppose
the cat is already out of the bag... Oh well, may as well give you a bit more while I'm at it.
I will LINK the post but I'm also going to paste the text so you can just see it here if you want.

I was tagged in Five for Five by Rachel Lowrey Muller.
You list five things about the main character in your current WIP, and then tag 5 other authors.
Here goes:
From "The Revolution: A Story of Amish Defiance":
1. The main character shares my first name - Rachel Byler.
2. Rachel's father has a big secret - he can't read.
3. There is a nearly unbelievable act of violence by an Amish man in this story.
4. One of the character's in this book will be put under the "bann" but it won't be who you think at first.
5. The story is based on a real event but it is entirely fictional as no Amish community that I know of, endorses home-schooling.
Being a homeschooler myself and a lover of the movie: "Amish Grace", I was inspired to write a different sort of Amish fiction than any I've ever seen before.
From the back cover of "The Revolution: A Story of Amish Defiance":
In October of 2006, a tragic school shooting rocked the community of Nickel Mines, PA.
In the neighboring small town of Thunder Ridge, a young mother feels the call of God in her life and the lives of her children. She and four other families in their community make the bold decision to begin home-schooling their children.
The ensuing struggle led to a church split that ripped the community in two and far-reaching effects spread through the surrounding Amish communities like wildfire.
